How Custom Sourcing Works At Heit's
Custom sourcing follows a structured, one-time development process designed to get the product right and keep it available when you need it.
Send Us a Sample
You send us a samples of the product you need, or a clear reference for what you are trying to match or develop.
Quoting and Feasibility
(approximately 2 weeks)
We send the sample to the appropriate mill and review specifications. Once evaluated, we provide you with a detailed quote, FOB Pittsburgh, so you can decide how to move forward.
Sample Production
If you approve the quote and place a deposit, the mill produces a development sample based on the agreed specifications.
Quality Control Review
The sample is sent back to us for review. We inspect it for consistency and alignment with the original request before moving it forward.
Customer Testing and Approval
We send the mill’s sample to you so you can perform your own testing, evaluation, and approval based on your standards and application.
Production Begins
Once you approve the sample, full production begins at the mill.
Shipping to Our Warehouse
Air freight typically takes about 3 weeks.
Sea freight typically takes about 6 weeks.
